Font Test #1

I’ve got a good handle on the new logo for the WEB200 site project. Click the preceding link to see the live HTML, or just gaze in wonder at this screen shot:

I’m using stacked CSS3 text-shadow styles on the main text. To simulate signage, I’ve added bright blue and red ‘stripes’ at the top and bottom of the stack.

Of course, now I have to devise a fall-back for IE7 and IE8, damn them to hell…

User Experience Reading

If you look at the right side navigation (or bottom nav, if you’re on a mobile device), you’ll see a set of links to my favorite technical book publishers: O’Reilly, Rosenfeld Media, A Book Apart, and Manning. Collectively, they produce the finest technical publications on the planet for user experience and web designers.

I can also vouch for the high quality of the e-books they each publish; I’ve got dozens of them on my MacBook Pro, iPad and Nook Touch. Nary a hiccup with their EPub, Mobi, and PDF formats.
